Frequently Asked Questions For Our Allen Sprinkler Repair Customers

Learn more about the most commonly asked questions regarding sprinkler repair in Allen from our past work

How often should I get my sprinkler system checked?
We recommend that you at least get your sprinkler system checked once a year around March. This is the time when people usually start using their sprinkler system after having it turned off for the winter. By having the system checked it helps ensure that there are no leaks and to ensure proper coverage for your landscape.
How do I turn off my water to the sprinkler system?
Turn off your sprinkler system at the backflow preventer. This is usually at your DCA, which is located normally in a green rectangular box located near your water meter. In order to turn it off you need to turn one of the two handles 90 degrees to shut off the water. It’s best to try and do both if possible.
Do you install WiFi sprinkler controllers?
Yes, we do install WiFi controllers for sprinkler systems. We use Hunter Hydrawise controllers. You can operate the sprinkler system from your phone, tablet or computer. Learn more at https://www.hydrawise.com/

History of Allen

Allen, Texas, has a rich history that traces its roots back to the mid-19th century. Originally inhabited by the Caddo and Comanche Native American tribes, the area underwent significant changes with the westward expansion of European settlers.

The city’s formal establishment can be traced back to 1872 when the Houston and Texas Central Railway was extended to the area. The railroad played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Allen, facilitating transportation and trade. The town was named after Ebenezer Allen, a state politician and one of the founders of the Texas and Pacific Railway.

During its early years, Allen primarily thrived as an agricultural community, with cotton being a major crop. However, like many towns in the region, Allen faced challenges during the Great Depression. In the mid-20th century, as the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area experienced suburbanization, Allen began to transform. The construction of U.S. Route 75 in the 1960s further enhanced accessibility, contributing to the town’s development as a suburban residential community.

In the late 20th century and early 21st century, Allen underwent significant growth and modernization. The development of Allen High School in the 1960s and the subsequent expansion of educational and recreational facilities helped attract new residents and businesses. The construction of the Allen Event Center and the development of the Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm shopping and entertainment district further solidified Allen’s position as a thriving suburban city.

Today, Allen continues to be a dynamic and family-friendly community, blending its historical heritage with modern amenities. The city’s growth and development showcase its ability to adapt to changing times while preserving its unique character and providing a high quality of life for its residents.
