Frequently Asked Questions For Our Carrollton Sprinkler Repair Customers

Learn more about the most commonly asked questions regarding sprinkler repair in Carrollton from our past work

How often should I get my sprinkler system checked?
We recommend that you at least get your sprinkler system checked once a year around March. This is the time when people usually start using their sprinkler system after having it turned off for the winter. By having the system checked it helps ensure that there are no leaks and to ensure proper coverage for your landscape.
How do I turn off my water to the sprinkler system?
Turn off your sprinkler system at the backflow preventer. This is usually at your DCA, which is located normally in a green rectangular box located near your water meter. In order to turn it off you need to turn one of the two handles 90 degrees to shut off the water. It’s best to try and do both if possible.
Do you install WiFi sprinkler controllers?
Yes, we do install WiFi controllers for sprinkler systems. We use Hunter Hydrawise controllers. You can operate the sprinkler system from your phone, tablet or computer. Learn more at https://www.hydrawise.com/

History of Carrollton

Carrollton, Texas, has a diverse and interesting history that reflects its evolution from a small agricultural community to a dynamic suburban city. Please note that developments may have occurred since my last update in January 2022.

Carrollton’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when settlers, primarily of English and French origin, began establishing homesteads in the area. The town was officially founded in 1842 and named after Carrollton, Illinois, the hometown of many early settlers. Initially centered around farming, Carrollton developed as a tight-knit community.

The arrival of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad in 1888 played a crucial role in Carrollton’s growth. The railroad enhanced transportation and contributed to the town’s economic development by providing a means to transport agricultural products to larger markets.

Throughout the early to mid-20th century, Carrollton maintained its agricultural roots while adapting to changes in the regional economy. The completion of Interstate 35E in the 1950s further improved accessibility and facilitated the town’s development.

In the latter half of the 20th century, as the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area experienced suburbanization, Carrollton underwent significant changes. The city evolved from a rural community into a suburban hub, attracting new residents and businesses.

Today, Carrollton is a thriving city with a diverse population, well-developed infrastructure, and a range of amenities. The Historic Downtown Carrollton Square preserves some of the city’s historical charm, featuring landmarks, shops, and restaurants. The city continues to grow and adapt, balancing modern urban development with a nod to its historical roots.

For the most current and detailed information about Carrollton’s history, you may want to consult local historical societies, city archives, or official city resources. They often provide up-to-date and in-depth insights into the history and development of a community.
